Applied Mathematics Foundations
Wintersemester 2021/22 (4 VU)
Dates
Due to the current COVID-19 situation, the lecture will be held online. During the following dates, the lectures will be live-recorded and streamed via Zoom. Afterwards all the lectures can also be found on TUWEL.
- First Meeting: Mo 4.10.2020 14:00-16:00
Zoom-Link at TUWEL
- Course dates: Mon 14:00-16:00, Wed 13:00-15:00
Zoom-Links at TUWEL
Attending the lecture via Zoom is not mandatory, but may present some valuable insights. Attending the exercise part of the VU is mandatory.
Exercises will be held every weeks (look for the dates below) and the exercise sheets will be announced at least a week in advance.
Learning outcomes
After successful completion of the course, students are able to define, analyze and manipulate (partial) differential equations with the help of operators, vector analysis, integral- and function theory. Moreover the lecture gives an introduction to concepts such calculus of variations and optimization.
Subject of course
- Vector analysis and line integrals
- Integrals on areas and volumes and integral theorems
- (Partial) differential equations
- Function theory
- Integral transformations
