Short Curriculum Vitae:

Dr Suess teaches computational Material Science at the Univerity of Technology in Vienna. In 2005 Dr. Suess was visting scientist at the Hitachi/IBM Almaden research lab. Dr. Suess explores many issues in nano-technology, including magnetic nano structures, nano composite permanent magnets and magneto acoustic sensors. In 2004 Dr. Suess proposed the new magnetic recording media concept "exchange spring media" which significantly increased the areal density of current hard discs. He also studied issues relating to optimization algorithms for Geographic Information Systems (GIS) and material optimization.

Dr. Suess co-authored more than 110 refereed scientific papers, including top journals in physics as Physical Review Letters and Applied Physics Letters. He has given 28 invited talks at the major international conferences in the field.
