Prolongation of SFB F65 "Taming Complexity in PDE Systems" (funded from 03/2017 until 02/2025)

Since March 2017, the Austrian Science Fund (FWF) is funding the special research program SFB F65 concerned with fundamental research on the analysis and numerics of complex PDE systems, conducted in close cooperation with Uni Wien and IST Austria. In November 2020, the application for an extension by 4 years was successful, and the second 4-year period started March 1, 2021. Leading 6 out of the 13 ongoing projects, the Institute of Analysis and Scientific Computing (ASC) of TU Wien is a strong partner of the SFB consortium. ASC professor Anton Arnold is deputy speaker of the SFB.

The TU faculty of the first funding period consisted of the ASC professors Anton Arnold and Ansgar Jüngel (analysis of PDEs) as well as Jens Markus Melenk, Dirk Praetorius, and Joachim Schöberl (numerics of PDEs). For the second funding period, we broaden the consortium and we welcome the recently hired ASC professors Elisa Davoli (calculus of variations) and Michael Feischl (numerical analysis of uncertainty quantification).

Details on the involved researchers, the intended research, and the scientific output of SFB F65 are found on the SFB homepage.
