November 10, 2020 Hannspeter-Winter-Award for Leila TaghizadehDr. Leila Taghizadeh is awarded with the Hannspeter-Winter-Award 2020 of TU Wien. This annual award is given for the best PhD thesis of a female PhD student at TU Wien. Each of the eight faculties of TU Wien can nominate only one candidate. We appreciate that, despite the interdisciplinary competition, this year the award is given for fundamental research on applied mathematics. Since her PhD defense in October 2019, Leila is postdoc in the Workgroup of Machine Learning and Uncertainty Quantification (head: Prof. Dr. Clemens HEITZINGER) at the Institute of Analysis and Scientific Computing. Her work focuses on mathematical modeling, analysis, and simulation of stochastic PDE systems with applications in biology, medicine, and physics. Currently she is working on uncertainty quantification in epidemiological models. The Institute of Analysis and Scientific Computing congratulates Leila for winning this interdisciplinary award. |
