TU Best Teaching Awards for Andreas Körner and Ewa Weinmüller
This year's ceremony awarding the Best Teaching Awards of TU Wien took place on October 21, 2020. As in the previous years, members of the Institute of Analysis and Scientific Computing were amongst the nominees and the winners.
This year's Best Teacher Award at the Faculty of Mathematics and Geoinformation goes to Dr. Andreas KÖRNER (ASC, Research Unit of Modeling and Scientific Computing). Amongst the top-3 candidates of the faculty was also Dr. Markus FAUSTMANN (ASC, Research Unit of Numerical Analysis).
While in previous years TU Wien awarded one Best Lecture Award for each of the eight faculties of TU Wien, TU Wien recognized this year excellence in teaching during the lockdown in the summer term 2020 due to the Corona pandemic with Best Distance Teaching Awards. Amongst the TU-wide 14 finalists were 4 lectures held by members of the Institute of Analysis and Scientific Computing:
Finally, Dr. Andreas KÖRNER and Prof. Dr. Ewa WEINMÜLLER were awarded the Best Distance Teaching Award for their lecture Practical Analysis II for Technical Physicists. We stress that the Best Teacher Award for Andreas was obviously more than well deserved: All of his lectures in the 2020 summer term have been nominated for the Best Distance Teaching Award.
The Institute of Analysis and Scientific Computing congratulates Andreas and Ewa for winning these competitive awards. We note that Andreas has already won the Best Lecture Award before in 2018, while Ewa has already won the Best Teacher Award before in 2017. Obviously, their 2020 awards are proof of their dedication to excellent teaching!
We thank our students for this sign of esteem of our dedication to good teaching!
